With great sadness we announce that our colleague Dr. Georges Bonani, has passed away on 26 October 2020. He was deeply invested in ETHZ and the Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics, and he was a major force in shaping our laboratory into one of the world's leading centers of radiocarbon dating. With his determination, untiring commitment, reliability, and wealth of ideas, he was a role model for us and many others.

We are losing a very distinguished scientist and a wonderful human being. The team and management of the Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics will carry on in compliance with his accomplishments. In deep condolement.
