Quaternary terraces
In collaboration with NAGRA (National Cooperative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste), Ion Beam Physics is conducting a project on absolute dating of several Deckenschotter sites on the Swiss Alpine foreland. Cosmogenic nuclide methodologies including, isochron-burial dating and burial dating with 10Be and 26Al are implemented. The aim of this study is to provide data useful for siting of a deep geological radioactive waste repository in northern Switzerland.
