Novel radiotracers
We are running a large program to investigate transient oceanographic processes. The long-lived artificial radionuclides 236U and 129I released by nuclear processing facilities and nuclear bomb tests are applied to study pathways and circulation timescales of Atlantic waters in the Arctic and Subpolar North Atlantic Ocean.
